Another reason to boycott Sony

I saw this at NANAE.  Apparently Sony BMG has decided that their reputation isn’t sufficiently in the crapper for that whole root-kit fiasco.  Apparently they want to try there hand at blog spamming.

And you won’t even get paid for it, either.

Think twice about buying Sony Products.  Then think three times.

BRRRRRR!

It’s been very windy (and very cold) here in Puyallup.  The power flicked off and then on really quickly this morning (just enough to clear out my clock, making me get out of bed to reset the clock).  Tonight, I’ll use the alarm clock in my cell phone (besides, it’s even even louder than my regular alarm).

A Hard-Learned Lesson...

The IE 7 Beta is still a beta.  This means it may not work.  It may break your current installation.  It may make other programs not work.  Like, for example, FS 2004.  I just found out the hard way, after having done a recent system rebuild, and I just spent the entire evening wondering why it wouldn’t work, after I could it to work so many other times.

Use IE 7 at your own risk.  Or better yet, switch to Firefox.

Right now it is in the 4th quarter...

And all I can say is that the Seahawks didn't lose the game. The referee lost it for us. I have never seen such gawdawfully bad officiating. Heads deserve to roll over this.

May the best team win.....

And it will be Seattle....

RIP Grandpa Munster

Grandpa Munster, Al Lewis passes away.

Rain, rain, rain

Moses grew up in Seattle. That how he learned to part the waters. Noah grew up in California, and later moved to Seattle. The ark got built rather quickly afterwards. Any Washingtonian will tell you that 40 days and 40 nights of non-stop rain is just simply January.

So much can happen when you go to work....

My $day-job is definitely non-IT.  My schedule calls for me to work late one night, then come in early the next morning.  So I come home this afternoon, and find out that SeaMonkey 1.0 has been released, Intranet Exploder 7 Beta is now publicly available (only if you have WinXp SP2, though), and they released an update to Firefox.

IE 7 now includes:

  1. Native pop-up blocking (if you can’t get IE 7, you can get a free pop-up blocker with the Google Toolbar).

  2. Built in tabbed browsing.

  3. A phishing filter designed to catch phishing website.

  4. RSS feed support.
All in all, you can get the first two with Firefox (Firefox had tabbed browsing available from day one, and rss feed support was added I think at 0.8).  Not bad.  A significant improvement over IE 6.  But I will take this advice and stick with Firefox.
