It's here!

Firefox 2.0 has officially been released. Download it here. I got mine yesterday, when someone slashdotted that it had been released (actually, it was during the five minutes that they had the ftp server address up before mozilla asked to pull the link). I already got mine.

A lot of the extensions I was using in Firefox 1.5 were old (some of them were written for pre 1.0), and it was only because I was using the Mr. Tech Local Install extension that I could use them (via the disable version check). So, I finally decided to install new ones. A lot of the old ones I was using were abandoned, and instead the authors had written new ones instead. There are still a few old ones that I have to use to maintain sanity, but functionality has not been adversly affected. The main difference between this version, and the previous version of firefox has been how tabs are handled. This never really made a difference to me, as I always used the Tabbrowser Entension, but this was the one extension that I can't get to work yet in 2.0. Maybe a new version will come out, soon.

IPods. Now with preinstalled malware!

Apple is now reporting that some recent video ipods are already preinfected with the RavMonE virus. Naturally, of course this only affects windows. So, if your operating system comes from the Anti-Christ, and you have an ipod, you may want adjust your AV software. Or, you can just go shiny-side out. I find that a good tin-foil hat actually is better than any firewall or AV (that and I also got a router, too).

Sweet Lou's off the Chicago

Lou Pinella is back in the game at the New World Order (Mind-Control Division). He was just hired to manage the Cubs. From 93-2002, he was the manager of the Mariners (watch out for pop-ups), and got them to the play-offs three times. IIRC, all three times, the team choked. Well, I don't see the Cubs getting to World Series anytime soon.

Fall is finally here.

It is now raining in earnest here in Puyallup at 2253 PST. And I have to walk through this to catch the bus tommorow morning. I catually enjoy the sound rain hitting the carport roof. It is rather soothing. For some reason, it never rains when I'm at work. It'll only rain:

  1. If I have the day off, or:
  2. I have to walk an extended distance to get to the bus stop, or
  3. I other wise have to be outside.

There are sometimes when it rains while I'm at work, and I can only conclude that somebody else in the Puget Sound region took the day off.

Ok, quick quiz for you

How many hair bands can you recognize? Added difficulty: Which one is listed twice? I could only recognize 1.

Betas, betas, and more betas

Ok, this is being written in the Windows Live Writer (beta) on a blogger beta blog. I must be a glutton for punishment. But, then again, I do like a stand-alone application for writing my posts. Nothing against blogger's interface, but I don't like waiting for a web-page to load to write something (broswers should be used to surf the web, not write blog entries or email). This is why I don't have a hotmail.com address.

The playoffs begin

Soon, we will be able to shed our Craniums' Mettalic Protectors. The New World Order, Mind-Control Division has entered the Fall playoffs, and soon the World Series will end, and we'll be able to recycle our hats. Until next Spring of course, when it will be shiny side out again.
