The Spaghetti Harvest is in:
I hope it’s a bumper crop….
Ramen. What would I be if I didn’t even mention the Flying Spaghetti Monster…
The Noodly Appendage has reached forth and called home Elizabeth Taylor. May she frolic forever in The Beer Volcano and Stripper Factory. Ramen.
To be honest, I never really did care for her on the silver screen. But I will always remember her for her role as the voice of Maggie Simpson when she spoke her first word. She was as well known for off-the-screen antics as her on the screen performance. Think about it. Without her and Richard Burton, Cleopatra would’ve been the Ishtar of the early ‘60s….
The Noodly Appendage has reached forth and The Flying Spaghetti Monster has called home the voice of the Mariners, Dave Neihaus. May he frolic forever in The Beer Volcano and The Stripper Factory. Ramen.
Among his highlights were the first pitch at Safeco Field, which is the best venue for The New World Order (Mind-Control Division). I remember my first interest in baseball, growing in the late ‘80s, back when the Mariners sucked (which they still do….) miserably, listening to his voice on the radio. Although at the time I was more inpressed with Rick Risz and his ‘Goodbye Baseball’ tagline, rather than Dave’s ‘My, oh my’. When I did get to go see the games and the Kingdome, I always brought my Walkman along, so I could listen to his play-by-play, and know who at bat.
RIP Dave…
The Noodly Appendage did reach forth, and The Flying Spaghetti Monster has called home Harry Wappler, so Wayne Cody can have a decent weather forecast while they both frolic among The Beer Volcanoes and Stripper Factories. Ramen…
I really didn’t watch KIRO TV growing up, but I do remember Wayne Cody and Harry Wappler. There was another show, Almost Live (a local equivalent of Saturday Night Live), and Wayne Cody was on occasion a target, owing to his size… Harry Wappler, IIRC was the first weather forecaster that I remember being called a meteorologist. I mainly got my local news fix from King 5, but I remember watching KIro on occaision.
RIP, Harry.
PS, for those of you who don’t know about Almost Live, here’s a little bit of what you missed. This was always my favorite sketch:
Always remember to behave yourself…
Today marks the start of Holiday. It lasts the entire month of December & January, as outlined by Bobby Henderson is his sacred writ. As a devout Pastafarian, I would celebrate this holy of day(s) if it wasn't for one of the teachings of The Flying Spaghetti Monster: Flimsy Moral Standards. Ramen.
So happy holiday, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or have an enjoyable Godless, Pagan Holiday and/or Festivus…
It be International Talk Like A Pirate Day. So get yer grog out, splice the main brace and go plunder Freehold, Iowa. If some other band has already made Pastor Deacon Fred walk the plank, then you can always use Google to find your next treasure horde. Remember, today, you’d be The Chosen People. You can’t go wrong.
Ramen.
The birth spasm has occurred. My cousin had a baby girl (named Aryanna) at 1:49 this morning. Now, who's next?
The only other question I have is that I know her husband is a Pastafarian, and so where's the Full Pirate Regalia? The Noodly Master has smiled upon them, and surely would smile more if The Chosen Attire was worn.....
In the next couple of months or so:
At least five blessed events in the very near future. Must be something in the water. Don't drink the water.
In addition to being a kick-ass musician, he also been touched by The Noodly Appendage. Hey, with all of the well-known celebrities belonging to a certain faith that will not be named here, it's nice to see one Pastafarian.
And it's another bountiful crop.
And of course, it can only be Flying Spaghetti Monster Sunday School:
It's nice to see someone proclaiming their faith:
Ramen.
So, I went to the supermarket today (shoulda gone to Wally World, but I didn't want to ride the bus on my day if it was possible). So I went to this establishment called Saar's Marketplace. The only thing it has going for it is it's in walking distance of my apartment (well, there's also the Safeway 16 blocks down Pacific Avenue, but that's too far to walk with a load of groceries....). So I go into Saar's and the first thing I notice is the meat department. They may have some great deals, but the first thing I noticed was the odor. It does not bode well for any meat department/butcher shop if the first thing I smell is something rotting. I don't know what it was, but that was an immediate turn-off (all the items on my list were non-perishable, so I didn't need to walk out right away). After making my purchase, I headed home, and noticed the receipt. Being a devout pastafarian, I do consume ramen on a regular basis (the fact that it's dirt cheap doesn't hurt either). What does hurt is when I'm charged 5¢ more per package than what the shelf price is and I'm charged for 10 packages rather than the 6 that I bought. This isn't the previous time that I got screwed at the check-out either. About a month ago, I bought a loaf of bread and some other items there. When I got home, I noticed that they had so conveniently decided that while I should pay for the bread, I really didn't need it, and they did not bag it.
I can excuse the smell of rot and decay in the meat department (well, not really, but that's the job of the health department, and a complaint to them will be forthcoming). I will not excuse malice and incompetence (there is no difference between the two really) from the cashier. And I will never shop at Saar's again.
Today is Winter Solstice. Forget Christmas, this is the old skool holiday, predating Christianity by millennia. With Christmas becoming so commercialized, most people nowadays are now celebrating Winter Solstice, not Christmas, whether they admit it or not. Your actions speak more about you than your word.
As a devout Pastafarian, I celebrate Holiday, which encompasses all of December and January. However, since The Flying Spaghetti Monster teaches Flimsy Moral Standards, it doesn't really matter how you celebrate, or what you celebrate, of if you celebrate at all. As long as you have a good time and wear the Chosen Attire (Full Pirate Regalia).
Ramen.
This time, The Noodly Master revealed Himself in a pumpkin pie at a recent Thanksgiving dinner.
Ramen.
Not even the Swedish Chef can withstand The Flying Spaghetti Monster. Although the consumption of pasta is always meant to be an occasion of joy, do not try to eat the Noodly Master Himself. Even if you are wearing The Chosen Attire (that's Full Pirate Regalia if you're not a devout Pastafarian, in which case, I suggest you start out with the open letter to the Kansas School Board).
Anyhow:
Ramen.
Is in ancient Egypt. Oh sure, they say it's a mummy hair-weave, but we all know that it's a manifestation of The Noodly Master. Ramen.
